Title: 00515 Hall sender Fault code VCDS.. dizzy timing??
Post by: bigdirtyturbo on 03 July 2013, 17:34
Ok, I've a little problem with the AGG and i could use some input please guys.

read the codes via VCDS lite

 00515 Hall Sender G40

I'm aware it usually points to the dizzy needing alignment. But try as i may i cant get the readings in vcds within tolerance. Best so far is...

block 1- is 56  (flickers between 26/56)Normal?
block 2 is 9      (flickers between 9/39)  Normal?

Doesn't sound too bad eh... but that's the dizzy at full adjustment, which is probably around 120 degrees anticlockwise from where it should normally be.

(just for reference with the dizzy in what looks like the "normal" position im getting readings of Block 1 at 20 and Block 2 at 60)

The car feels flat as a pancake like this, but no codes are coming back up. surely something is a miss here?

firstly i'll check the timing tomorrow, then the timing of the dizzy.. ( any help on the latter would be appreciated )

Could it likely be a faulty hall sensor? never had one go before. but there's a first for everything. Does the flickering of the readings on vcds lite tell us anything??

Cheers in advance folks
