Hi all
I'm puzzled and so is the mechanic. The car will not start, starter motor has been changed and so has the ignition switch. Turn the key and all the right noises are happening but turn it to start and nothing at all. Battery is fine fuel pump seem fine all the fuses are fine we have no idea why this f**k*r is not working. Please please help

You checked the immobiliser is not malfunctioning?
-
not massively sure how to check the immobiliser
-
Sounds like an immobiliser issue to me as well :undecided:
-
there are no unusual lights on. if it was an immobiliser problem would the engine still turn??
-
forgot to say it has been scanned and was no codes or faults

when you put your key in the ignition and give it a turn does theyellow immobiliser light , light up and go out .
see here for some info http://www.myturbodiesel.com/1000q/multi/immobilizer-VW-Audi-FAQ.htm

ok just went out again key in ignition the immobiliser light comes on and when you turn to start it the light goes off.

hmmmm, might rule out the immobilizer then ?, is the new starter ok, can you hear or feel the solenoid moving when your trying to start it

RAC came out again just now and found that the fault was a plug on the starter motor that was knackered. so he cut off the old plug refitted a new one = HAPPY HAPPY
