http://www.vwwatercooled.com.au/forums/f112/creaking-noise-when-steering-close-full-lock-65397.html

My steering the last couple of days has been making a rubber rubbing noise on or near full lock when reversing into my drive or garage and onxe or twice a tick.

Its 3.25 years old with 10k on.

Anyone know what the tps is talked about in that thread above?
Or what they loobed?

I like this car but its really starting to piss me off. ARR. Why it cannot be as rattle and problem free as my other main car has been I dont know.

I had this, cured under warranty. Apparently the arch liner was fitted incorrectly so fouled the tyre on full lock. Worse when wet

I had this exact same issue in my MK6 GTD. I could only hear it when the car was wet, especially in an under ground carpark I was using at the time. I mentioned it to the dealers and they fobbed me off.

I kinda forgot about it and eventually the noise just went away by itself, so I've no idea what the root cause of it was. Not helpful for you I know.
