Title: whats needed for a decat
Post by: welshdean on 02 July 2013, 13:15
Hi everyone.
I'm looking at buying a decat for my all standard agu.
I've been told that it's a case of taking the old pipe off and putting the decat on and that's it.
But now it's changed and that I might need a new gasket for it aswell. Oh yeah... And also a reducer as it might not fit.

So can anybody tell me what I need in total as its doing my f**king head in now.

Thankyoy

dean, the pipe in the ads section doesn`t come with the reducer like mine did, so you`ll need a 2.5-2.25" reducer to fit to your standard exhaust. you might be able to reuse your old gasket depending on its condition.
if you`re looking for more power then its a part that you`ll benefit from as the standard cat is very restrictive. the exhaust itself is not too bad.
if you just want a stage one map and stick with it, then you`ll be fine with what you have. but if at a later date you want to go stage 2 and k03s then I`d suggest you sort out some breathing and fueling to benefit.
personally for the price it is, I would snap it up now as even if you don`t fit it now, it`ll be useful at a later stage when you do get bored of your stage 1 map.

if you have 2 sensor holes then you'll need a spacer on the rear to prevent coding after the cat, which decat are you getting would help us out as well
