Title: Does this site now use an app??

See all those hundreds of threads moaning about wanting a mobile version?

It will try and detect what you are browsing from and direct you to the mobile or normal website.

At the bottom of all pages of the mobile version is a large button to change you back to the normal version.

I don't like it. It's wank. Normal site ftw.

Thanks for your feedback.

Are you using the site on a phone?

Thanks for your feedback.

Are you using the site on a phone?

Yup. iPhone 5. It's working but it's awkward to use. I actually find it harder to navigate.

I agree, which is why I instantly reverted back to the web version :undecided:

This is one of those 'why do I even bother' moments.

I guess I'll turn off the auto-detect.

In fairness, a lot of people have asked for it. Allow it to be an option for people which you have. I personally prefer navigating the site as it has been on my phone. I'm used to it and its quick and easy. I personally never wanted a mobile version but I know plenty of others have asked for it.

Let them make their own minds up.

I agree with Shady, leave it as an option to keep the people that want an app type browser happy, I'm not a fan but that doesn't mean everyone will be the same, I quite like the normal site on my 4s so I've gone for that.

Just logged on a I was like WTF!  On first impressions it seems alright actually and definitely runs faster and smoother.  Like any website changes they always cause an uproar and it'll certainly take some getting used to.
Personally I'll give a try for a couple of days no doubt revert back to the full site, just like I do with every other website I use. I'm just not a massive fan of mobile formatted sites in general.
Good to see the forum isn't getting left behind in development though.

What sort of gadget are you using out of interest?

I don't like mobile formatting either but if I had a pound for each request for an 'app'... I would have a tenner.

Can easily switch between the two versions, no big deal.

Samsung Galaxy S3, always on landscape view so it's as close to using PC as possible.

Yeah nice big resolution on that so the full site looks much better.

When I was testing it, it redirected ipad users straight to the mobile site - looked horrendous!

Suppose the question is whether to turn off all auto-selection and just let people find the link bottom right of the full site?

Just using it now on the S3, and I find it great.

Well done Jazzy...
