ive read a lot about how you can get power gains on the 1.8T so im just wondering what you can do to the v6 motion to get a little more power out of it?
-
Without chucking serious coin at it not a lot.... Basic things are exhaust etc but you won't see much gains.. Turbo or supercharge is the only way to get decent gains.. But it won't be cheap!
-
turbo it. also wrong section
sorry. ok dokes. just concidering it if i cant find a decent 1.8T when the time comes

The 4mo is not very tunable. But i would have it over my old mapped gti any day. Handling, throttle response and way power is there as soon as you plant your foot  and the noise of the v6 is awesome

an a little more with a map but not much just makes them feel a bit better
-
Whats the figures after a map
-
From what I have read ,about 10-12 bhp,but as far as I'm aware the difference in the power delivery is noticeable ,i must admit its my 4mo is my first mk4 ,and apart from the door lock module issue ,I have had no problmes (touch wood lol),and just got anothers years mot so its good for a while

The difference in fuel would make me get a turbo mine is great sips petrol when driven normal. 6 cylinder cars drink like gazza
-
There not bad on fuel. Just around town they get thirsty.
I just cant justify paying 200-300 a map if gains are so minimal. Maybe a stage 2 would be worth it. Take it would need change few bits and bobs for that
