Not really

Service it and make sure all the boost pipes, seals and connections are in good condition

Surely engine modifications eg.  Intercooler,  injectors,  air intake mods etc are better off done before the remap so as to set it up to its optimum? Obviously things wwork differently to a petrol engine so correct me if I I'm wrong.

Surely making sure the engine is fit and healthy BEFORE modifying it is a good starting point?

If your base setup is pants, modifying it will become very costly

Equally the OP has not started what engine they have or their goals and how much power they are looking to achieve

Of course totally,  assuming it's fit,  healthy and recently serviced.
