So I want to take the car on track, but last time I gave the brakes a good belting they became very soft and began to smoke. Anyone know any good pads that stop this or some good disks? I only have the standard 1.8t disks and pads, oh and the car had new pads only at the beginning of this year.

312mm upgrade would help with cooling. you need 312mm carriers and 312mm disks. have a look in the for sale section, someone was selling the carriers and callipers, though the callipers are the same as the 288mm brakes.
you can use your own callipers!
