Title: Creaky Clutch?
Post by: Taff_09 on 30 June 2013, 12:18
Hi All,

my GTI has done 10k now and have a very noticeable creaking noise when pulling away slowly in 1st or 2nd ,and  when reaching the biting point on the clutch.

not sure whether its the clutch or gearbox or something else but its bugging me!

i have it booked into dealer for service next week so will get them to check it out but as usual they may say there now wrong with it or unable to replicate fault!

tx!

I had this issue at around 30k miles.

It was as I was pulling away from my parking spot at an angle, say wheel locked to the right at very low speeds in first gear mostly.

I put it in to VW, it was off the road for three weeks and I wasn't given a full itinerary of what work was carried out. But the service manager claimed there were £5k of replacements put into the front end.

Steering rack crops up quite a bit from memory.

RedHP - that's EXACTLY the same noise as mine had. Was in for 'repair' for three weeks once I raised it with them
