Title: clean car
Post by: [han] on 12 August 2005, 00:20
just thought i'd show you my efforts at cleaning my car! (yeah tis only a driver) but i spent ages doin this, and i also had a fight on the drive with the hosepipe - stupid nozzle came off, and i got soaked in the process... not good, but was nice weather so i soon dried off! used all my free autoglym to do my car! (please ignore the dents at the rear of the car and my wheels... in the process off sorting out two sets of alloys!)

Very nice and shiny

I really should give mine a clean, hasnt had a proper clean since BVF, which was over a month ago now!!

I have to say I really like small bumpers now, I used to be all for big bumpers but small bumpers have definately grown on me, will defo be keeping mine!! You thought about getting the matching red striped side trim, like the gti? Think it could look really good

babybluemk2 - no i'm not from no rice forum - only this forum!

sugar - unfortunately its not that mint...  you can't see the dents on that pic! there are dents in both rear doors (identical) and also identical dents behind rear wheels above the bumpers, interior is immaculate though, been well loved! the trolley jack thing in the spare wheel was wrapped ina  teatowel to stop it rattling! Not a bad car for £200 i guess!!! LOL

Mix - as for the wet t-shirt competition... i only got laughs from the mechanics in the garage over the road  :embarassed: i was't amused tbh!

The lacquer has started to peel around the front of the wings, what should i do? is there anything i can do?

get the laquer repaired soon as you can otherwise anything can get under it and damage it more normally you end up with a smokey white layer over the paint,

LOL  the other set of wheels r like bbs me thinks... aparently they need a bit of work and a good clean, but tis fine by me! what do ya reckon?

look in good condition, probably goin to be a good winter wheel meanin u can do somethin special to the bbs wheels and not worry about nackarin them up in the sh!tty cold.

Keep the pics comin hun.

I cleaned mine 2 at the weekend but didnt do half as good a job as you. I still had flies all over the front! I think a few subtle mods will have you looking like a gti driver in no time. You could start by laying y rear wiper flat. Easy to do and looks loads better.

You can never beat a late J plate Driver, the nicer interior, central locking & power steering perhaps too & the almighty important rev counter.

I have two of me own in my travels, one was a 90 model and the last one was the 1.8 Driver, both served me well with an accumulatively milage of 29k in 16 months :)

Keep up the good work, I can't believe the price it was a steal, nice rare colour for a driver too, good to see one in good nic.
