Hi all. New to the forum and currently the owner of a Mk6 59reg GTI. Mine is in my local dealer on Monday and while i'm in I'm planning to take a look round the Mk7 in the showroom (although probably won't have time for a drive).
The main question for me, and I'd be interested to hear fellow Mk6 owners' view on this, is whether the Mk7 is enough of an 'upgrade' from the 6 to warrant trading mine in.
In my head I've already bought a Mk7 several times over, so this will very much be a heart versus head matter for me and whether the sums add up.
Roll on Monday...

I think the Mk5 to Mk6 was the upgrade
The change from Mk6 to Mk7 is to a complete new model, on the new MQB platform.
Reading the reviews so far, they all seem to suggest the Mk 7 it is a better car in almost every respect.
So I think both your head and heart should be happy with the decision to buy a new Mk 7
