:smiley:Totally standard 20v golf gti ARZ engine code with an intermittant fault, had it scanned no codes.
Starts from cold no problem gets upto temp no worries, 10 minutes down the road at light throttle at 30 mph it starts to hold back and hesitate, apply throttle and off it goes with no hesitation or stutter. Any ideas or thoughts, done the faq and searched already bit stumped and frustrated

clean throttle body, also get it booked in for coil pack recal,
could be n75 (but thats usually hesitating when accelerating)

Is there a cut off year for the recall as the car is a 2000 on the w reg ? I have cleaned the throttle body and maf sensor but still the same, all seems a bit backwards to me i use to get misfires on my old rs turbo due to boost blowing out the spark.
Thanks for the reply PaulT

Sounds like a coil pack. Mine was similar.

I had something a little similar on my ARZ it turned out to be a faulty DV. So I replaced it for a forge 008, but I also needed a new MAF slightly after.
-
Nice one thanks for the replies, it was stuttering tonight so stopped and unplugged the maf sensor and drove home stutter free, so going to try a new maf and the dealers on monday to see if i qualify for coil packs

Fitted a new maf sensor still slight issue, so checked for vacuum leaks, 1 leak on the turbo side and 2 leaks on the inlet manifold, one being the fuel pressure regulator, new pipework and so far so good. Reversed diagnosis but ah oh a new maf sensor cant be bad. Missus thinks different though
