I have been thinking I have a boost leak for a while now because I keep getting 17705 and 17963 codes, but I have just had a smoke test and there are no leaks at all. It was suggested to me that it could be a weak spring in my Forge dv.
I am getting on average 190 bhp out of a remapped aum golf engine, but at times when driving in the higher gears fairly quick, I can feel it holding back, then it is as if something has jumped in to give it the extra boost. could this be the sign of a faulty spring in my Forge 007 DV?

Sounds more like a faulty N75 to me mate. Btw have you done an N249 bypass?

yes mate, I have done a N249 bypass. I only had a new N75 valve a year ago. It is strange because the boost is not there sometimes and then all of a sudden it kicks in, especially in 4th gear

Sorry didn't read under your sig lol mine was doing this and it was my N75. Hmm does sounds strange if you recently changed it. The 17705 code is know. As a ghost code in the ecu on AUMs i too keep getting it. The other code it usally always related to the N75. Ok if this was me i would be checking the following.
Have you got anyone you could borrow there N75 from to test? Or I'd look to return yours and get a replacement.
Check all your pipes coming off the FR and all boost pipes coming/going to your inlet. Are your injector seals leaking? Is your rocker cover leaking oil? Your forge DV should have a yellow spring at a stage 1 map.
I know how frustrating this is I keep getting my 17705 and I have changed a lot...
*Bypasses the n249.
*changed TIP to silicone.
*changed all boost pipes to silicone.
*changed all inlet pipes to silicone.
*changed PCV pipes to silicone.
*changed DV for forge 007p.
*changed N75.
*changed charge pipe to AGU.
*cleaned TB.
*cleaned MAF.
The only other thing I can think of now for you would be your charge pipe if you still have the AUM one that will defo cause you a leak. As for me I plan on changing all my gaskets soon when I fit my chrome inlet and rocker lol

Edit: just read your sig.

LOL  I have also swapped the agu charge pipe hose that connects to the pancake pipe for a samco silicone one the other week, as there was a little leak there.
I have just phoned Forge and asked to buy a new spring for the DV. but the man said I probably didn't need it and is sending me out a service kit free of charge! Now that is first class customer service  and has save me spending £22. he suggested it is the O ring that may be the problem. So I will give it a go and report back here as soon as i have done it.
Thanks for your help though

it is the right one as it is yellow mate

how long has the spring been in? I know they must last a while but surely they would get slack over time

Going to say my car drove 10x better with a forge setvice kit as it updates the design to a much better design. Mine holds more psi and for longer. Mine gave no error codes though

I just rang forge they are sending me one for free too Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!!!

It is the original spring since I bought it about 2 years or so ago, could even be 3 years, I can't remember precisely

Sometimes my boost gage wont go past 9 psi and then all of a sudden it kicks in up to 16 psi. Hopefully this service kit will sort it out!

Ok, I serviced my 007 DV, which does seem a bit better now, but I don't think that was the problem because it is still pretty much the same performance, although it is a bit better. I am awaiting on a new silicone TIP to arrive, because I think i have a small leak in it. It was just not picked up on the smoke test.
