Just got my silicone tip and noticed while reading thru the guide I found on fitting one that the metal nipple for the vacuum isn't there!! Do indeed it??
It's on a AUM ko3s
Cheers

where by is it?. if its right by the turbo end it`ll be for the charcoal canister evap pipe. can be blocked off if you do a evap delete.

If the one at the top is just blanked off I can sort that  but the one at the bottom, is that just a small piece of tube so that you can put a jubilee clip round the vacuum hose to hold it there???

Yes mate that's the one

Anyone  wanted to fit it tonight, pinched a couple of valves from the spray gun spares box at work I have one that fits the feed at the turbo end so if its just something to hold the vacuum hose to I will crack on with it!!!
Sould I use something to "glue" the valve or just use one that's a nice tight fit???
-
you can cut a bit of rubber pipe to make a coupler and put a tight fitting bolt into it as a temporary fix .
then use one of these Silicone Blanking Caps (http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_sacat=0&_nkw=silicone blanking cap&_fscr=1) when you get it
-
Cheers Jamie
What about the other can I fit a a valve I've pinched from work and how would I make it secure??
-
what other are you on about, what valve too? :undecided:

I do t have it!! Can I fit a small piece of "tube"so the vacuum hose has something for the jubilee clip to fix to??
-
have you delelted your charcoal evap canister?
-
i used a plastic barbed connector iirc..
-
I'm not sure what or where the the charcole canister is lol....so I assume I still have it
-
lol and you want it fitted tonight?....
it should all be obvous when you take your old one off! youre probably still going to need a barbed coupler though.. 12mm was what i needed for my s3 TIP, 10mm seemed ok in my k03s tip
-
I got one already...just couldn't think of the word so kept calling it a valve!! Lol
So I can blank off the one at the air box end and fit the coupler to the turbo end??
Do I have to remove the charcoals canister and is there anything else I have to remove..I thought it was just a straight swap when doing this
-
I thought it was just a straight swap when doing this
it should pretty much be so!
-
Ok
I know it late but just to be clear do opt don't I remove the charcoal canister??
Thanks for your time I know there a million and one topics on this
-
you do not need to remove the evap canister.
a job you might want to do at a later date
-
Sweet
Just had a quick read up on it seems like a simple job..are there any gains to removing it or is it just to de clutter the bay??
-
"apparently" cleaner fumes going into the inlet. ive done this mod too as a weight reduction aid.
i can`t see the evap canister reducing octane though
-
Cool
Thanks again for you time mate
