Title: RCD510 randomly switching off

Afternoon all,

My RCD510 has started to switch on and off randomly. It is fine in the morning when the inside of the car is cold but in the afternoon when the car has been sitting in the sun all day, the radio switches on and off constantly on my journey home from work. Has anyone else had this happen to them?

A few months ago mine switched off randomly on it's own but it only occurred twice and has been fine ever since.  Can't remember if it was hot or cold in the car.

If it's doing it a lot then get dealer to check it out.

Car is out of warranty so don't really want to approach the dealer.

Sounds like radios thermal protection is cutting in,
If radios out of warranty, why not remove it and pop
The lid off it, it maybe something silly like an accumulation
Of dust inside or the small fan not operating?
