Title: Stop check coolant level, service manual!!!
Post by: Pez on 25 June 2013, 07:12
Just got that warning when I started the car this morning, popped the bonnet and the the coolant level was above the minimum line. Switched the car off then back on and it did it again. Switched it off and on the second time and heard nothing since. Could this be the water pump or just a dirty sensor? Temps were fine steady 90 degrees. Golf v6 btw.

Could be a faulty sensor on the expansion tank I suppose, can get a nice brand new expansion tank on eBay for like £8, might be worth trying :)

The prongs will need to be scraped clean. Takes a few moments and saves you wasting money on a new bottle with sensor.
