After seeing the night blue GTI yesterday my dealer told me of the other local GTI's & since one was in the colour I've ordered couldn't resist going today :laugh:
I'll let the pics do the talking (Sorry if the pics are abit carbon biased :grin:)

Still loving the Red, but that looks the best metallic shade by far in the CSG - almost tempted to change. I also spot that the Red one has Continentals and not the Dunlops that i'm dreading will be on mine.

Saw a MK5 in CSG today and as much as going to love my new GTD the Mini will be sold and a MKV CSG GTI is definitely going to be bought as our 2nd car.
CSG was my second colour for my coming GTD if not totally and utterly sold on the white being best colour on the MK7 overall - But CSG does look great in these photos :) though having seen it a few times now think it sits a little better on GTI than it would on GTD simply due to the red line, but marginally.

Only steel grey, like my mk6 but they do look fantastic!

I was surprised at the bottle green tinge under lighting, but most metallic cars are rarely pure greys. My last car, a Pewter Grey Scirocco had a very pleasant blue/purple hue to it, i'd buy in that colour again in a flash.

Yes Linwood for the Red & Glasgow(South) for Carbon Grey

I can vouch for the green tinge with Carbon Grey as I have a Carbon Grey mk6 GTD. The green tinge is noticeable in bright light and I love it! :cool:
When I bought my mk6, I was going through the same dilemma as many of you guys are with the white versus grey colour choice. I was still undecided right up to the point of placing my order. The thing that clinched it for me was dealer's GTD demonstrator that they had on the day I did the deal; it was Carbon Grey and it looked great.
Whichever colour you guys have decided upon for your new GTI's / GTD's, I'm sure the wait will be worthwhile. I know how frustrating the wait is though, as I has an 8 month wait for my car.
Look forward to reading your personal reviews and seeing lots of pictures when you start taking delivery!

Being around this forum I have not just been focused on my coming GTD but GTI overall and got to admit the MKV styling and in the 'Steel Grey' :) has me sold completely on replacing our 2nd car (3-4k miles a year) similarly valued Mini (£6-7k)
Going to get the GTD in October and then be on to the MKV forum to seek buying assistance :)

No Probs for the pics, I'd say the blue/green tinge was more to do with the showroom lights. Looked awesome whatever can't wait to get mine :smiley:

Great pics,
I have seen another launch car with the half leather in the rear and it looked fantastic. Shame the front seats were cloth. obviously in a rush to get them out must have run out of rear seats.
Wonder how much it would cost later to change the seats out for european version?

That Carbon Grey is really growing on me.
If I change my mark 5 to a GTD, will be down to Pure White, Night Blue or Carbon Grey.

Sorry I'm not sure tbh (don't think so) that red one only had the usual delivery miles on it & up for sale. I was too busy taking pics to ask lol

Ok I know I biased because I've ordered TR but I especially like the front view in Red, I think the grills and the black details on the front look great against the red. Having said that I might consider CSG next time, it's a great looking colour on the GTI

The more I look at CSG - the more it seems like it is the best colour! It looks so nice against the red. Much more subtle than white. Just a really great looking car in that colour. Classy and attractive.

It really is a lovely colour, and if I were getting an ordinary Golf or something like a Polo, I'd probably opt for that in all honestly. However, I do think that the GTI, with the various black and red accents on it, white provides a nice neutral background for them to stand out.

Would have to be another grey shade though as CSG is only for GTI/GTD remember. :wink:

I've been down to look at the Pulman demo which is in tornado red. I could easily live with it even though I said I wouldn't have a red car. I feel a change coming..........

My fav is still white. But I think match should be super pleased with his red and 19inch wheels, makes his stand out a bit.

That's one of the reasons for me getting the 19s; the white is more striking there's no doubt, but too flashy for my line of business (otherwise I would have been seriously tempted) - but I can't resist a little bit of showing off so the bigger wheels is the way to do that! :evil:

I'll be happier if mine comes with Bridgestones rather than Dunlops. Still not a fan of the wing badges, although I think the grey GTD ones look a little less tacky than the red GTI ones (not by much) because they're not quite as stand-outish. Debating whether to have mine removed when I get the GTD.

Just like the red stripe going through the GTI headlights, I don't think the wing badges are a massive deal. Both are quite subtle to my eye and not really worth getting hung up about
