Title: MK6 GTI pre 2011 - Do they have Noise pipe, Soundaktor or Nothing?

I know from 2011 they have Sounaktor, but what do the pre 2011 have?

Im in a 2010 (59 Plate) so does any one know what will be in mine?

my 59 plate cupra had one of those crappy noise makers fitted, its basically the same car, so i think you car probably has one fitted :grin:

Yeah my 10 plate cupra R had one.
Great for the first week or so.
It fits under the wiper panel and I'm sure mk6 Gti had it from the start.

Its hard to find out, the Americans say they only got it from 2011 in the GTI's, cant seem to find what you the UK got from 2009 onwards,

Any help would be great.

There is a noise maker under the scuttle panel next to the wipers which can be disconnected or removed. It vibrates and is meant to create a 'sporty' engine sound. What a load of pish.

Yeah are you sure they are on models before 2011? Dont want to pull on my wipers and stuff to find out it not there.

Not that I was looking for them, I thought these noise things were only on the American market cars,

European ones don't have pipes etc as far as I know just a little box with a kind of speaker inside which vibrates to make a sound

Hey Neil, glad you replied as i thought someone like you may know or know a tuner that may know.

Its located where the first bend is on your intake, but its underneath that black plastic bit, they tried to hide it away. Do you know anyone you call call / message and find out?

There are loads of guides and videos about it.

It's not pipes and has nothing to do with the intake

Like i said before It's a little plastic box next to the wiper motor which buzzes

It take 5 mins to see if one is fitted or not.

I think there is some confusion here. I know its a small box and where its located and even how to remove.

What im trying to find out is whether it was installed on MK6 GTIs before 2011.....as some people say they only started putting them in half way through 2011 - but that was on an american site.

Mine is a 2010 - Just want to know if i have one........
