Hello all im thinking of replacing the duel mass to a solid flywheel but Ive heard that the gearbox gets louder not sure about this and will the pedal be harder to push the car is an 02 gti150 diesel its also mapped to about 185bhp will the solid flywheel be better if so what kits work well tnx in advance and sorry for all the questions

Dare I say a SMF (single mass flywheel) is almost unbearable. There is a huge difference in diesels with the fly wheels.

Some good reading involved with the SILENT SMF kits. Very expensive but the dog bollocks. - http://uk-mkivs.net/forums/p/449891/3139675.aspx

I replaced my broken DMF with a SMF on my 110AHF mk4 and it was very noticeable. Especially when reversing off the drive the car had big vibrations.
After I fitted a polybush to the dogbone mount it was even more so.
So glad when I sold that car and went back to DMF on the 150PD

Providing the map is smooth and progressive the standard replacement kit will be fine
Upgrade if you plan on wanting more power

Personally wouldn't do it..
Even heard of them snapping crankshafts
