Been looking for some Hella all reds, spoke to my bank manager and he seems to think a 2nd mortgage should cover it! But then i keep hearing about these RSR's?
So they are red at the top smoked in the middle and red at the bottom (hence RSR). What are these from? are they late cabriolet? and why so rare? Are they ones people have made or are they OE?
-
Was some of those posted on the UKMK3 Facebook page
-
What is it with those hella reds? They seem to go for a £100 plus?
-
I really like the "RSR" ones myself and believe tthey're also a hard to find Hella issue cluster. This said I know several people have just smoked out the centre section of the all red version. Either way they command ridiculous scene tax.
-
What are Rsr?
-
They are only expensive because of the 'scene' tax that gets applied, just like vento front spoilers.. there's a chap on ED38 who does 'reds' copies that look just the same.
-
If they're the same ones I've seen that are smoothed then they are a very good quality finish.
-
Which ones??
-
There was a guy on here from Somerset who had a Stylehaus mk3 on air ride, he sold a set of these rear lights a while ago.
-
You got pics etc?

This is the car with said rear lights.

Love that.
-
That is nice. So what is the full name of them?
-
I think those particular ones are CL spec clusters that have been sanded smooth and then spray tinted red.
-
Hard to get hold of new hey Thai?
-
Make your own :) Use CL clusters and a quality tinting spray, rub the light down. Tint just the reverse light once or twice, then do the hole lot. Then finish with clear lacquer and t-cut. I did my nova lights years back, and they looked great.
-
Ha snap, i did my Nova lights as well.
-
I can't believe you've just admitted to owning Novas!!! Only kidding everyone has to start somewhere!
There is a guy on ED38 who makes them called iceworx i think. Callum_K on here has a set of the all reds from him and they look good, really bright solid red and he does them for £50. Whereas the Hella all reds look more like clear lights tinted red so more transparent.
The Hella all reds i believe come off the colour concepts. But i don't know where these RSR's originate from, if at all. I think they may be made and not original unless someone can tell me otherwise?
-
Cheers for that my friend, will contact him
-
be careful with spraying lights as it affects the bulb output/colour.. I have all clear hella's which I was looking at making all red's but reading up a load of people said you need to change the indicator bulbs so they don't flash red (green were the colour I believe?)
-
Don't bother with green bulbs, just use high intensity LED orange bulbs, they work fine. Here are my lights, done by "iceworx" on Edition38.
