Title: Help needed with temperature light and revving

Hi when driving my mk2 16v gti every now and again the temperature light will flicker on, the revs suddenly drop and the car seem to lurch forward. Has anyone had this problem before?

My temp light flashes on mine for no reason but i dont have the other sytoms
Im changing my coolent bottle cause apprently its the sensor in there that causes the light to flash! :s
