Title: ECU shorted out,8v p reg,car wont start
Post by: gasketface on 17 June 2013, 21:33
Hi all.If anyone ahs any ideas please post.

Just had a mate phone with a prob.He noticed recently that ecu was'nt bolted down but left it.Earlier he hit pot hole and whole lot jumped out.

He thinks that somehow he has shorted the metal frame that is around ecu (do'nt know how as i am miles away) but car wo'nt start now.

Any ideas, could he somehow have blown a relay ? or ecu nacked ?.

Thanks.

As a guess I suspect you have fried the ECU

Everything connected?
Also have fuses in case of such things happen. I guess fuse blown or damaged ecu relay.

But would defo check that everything is intact first. Could of pulled wires out of plug.

just remember if he changes the ecu to get the keys and immobiliser ring thing that match it (or he will need to de-code the immob)
