Oh sh!t that looks totally awesome. Wow.
And now I feel like changing from white to this! Perhaps I should dump the leather and pick this colour instead haha. Aww crap.
-
Demo then - no ADC.
-
I bet all you guys that chose white are feeling gutted now....I dont really like the look of the MK7, but oh sh!t the CSG for the win in my opinion.
-
MK7gti is that Agnews Mallusk? Did you notice if was a manual or DSG?
-
I bet all you guys that chose white are feeling gutted now....
No not really. White is still the best all round colour. Anyway, in my case I'm looking at months and months of waiting, I can change colour if I want!
What do you mean you don't like the look of the Mk7? That is unacceptable.
-
Still looks a bit bland to me but would need to see it in the flesh. The paint choice could actually drive you crazy!!
-
I think it suits the mk6 better tbh.
-
Looks good, and if I was the kind of person that would detail my car every Sunday and rush out with a bucket every time a bird poop landed with 20ft of my car then I may have gone for this colour. But I still think white suits the car best and shows off it's styling accents.
-

you were the man who said "GREY who would buy a boring GREY car" if my mind serves me well

Your mind doesnt serve you well, i have a Beautifulllllll CSG Mk6 on my drive....must be some other chump

The GTI red accents might make a difference in colour choices for some who are going for GTI as it does get accentuated differently but in my opinion whether it is GTI or the GTD, Pure White is way out ahead as best colour for this MK7 lines and was my preferred choice from outset regardless of paint choices to choose from.
If there was no white it would definitely be the carbon then Blue and then Black (despite having that now and knowing what a pain it is)
Check these GTD photos out and do maximise to desktop size to get real detail and just see how the white really highlights all the features and lines and works so well with chrome http://www.caranddriver.com/photos-13q1/502214/2014-volkswagen-golf-gtd-photo-505440 (http://www.caranddriver.com/photos-13q1/502214/2014-volkswagen-golf-gtd-photo-505440) :)

I am liking the CSG a lot, especially after seeing our favourite A1 S-line in the area at the local Aldi carpark again today (must be an employee's, it is there all the time) in Daytona Grey pearlescent. I don't think the missus would forgive me if I got a similar grey, she's planning on getting the A1 in that colour at some point when she has to drive herself to work.
Looking out on the road tonight it seemed like in my neck of the woods, after White (40%), shades of silver/grey (25%) are the next popular car colour, followed by metallic blue shades (10%) and black (5%), leaving the reds/greens/yellows in the minority. I need to stick with Tornado Red (I think...)
-
It doesn't float my boat..

That was me, I'm redeeming myself now. However I think white is by far the best colour for the GTI 7 and the Mk 6 and 5.
Having said that it still looks fantastic in grey but not outstandingly awesome :nerd:

Is it Pure White though? As its a show car I'm 99.99% sure it will be Oryx. Looks phenomenal!
-
I love it and I've ordered one!

Think these photos are quite representative of what a 'white' GTD would look like whether Oryx or Pure.
Oryx will maybe have a blue hue in certain lights and the pure are more a brilliant and dare I say 'pure' white from ones I have seen on forecourt - This is unlike the Audi Amalfi white which has a creaminess much like pepper white on Mini with difference to white easily seen.
These photos have the grey calipers so think this pretty much looks like the ones we will see in UK -Think the Nogaro look great against white with their black accents and being spokes they show discs/calipers great and having seen in motion on video now, the discs and calipers are readily seen also - These photos are ones that finally had me sold on my choice :)

 edit i have just seen its the chump above who can not make his mind up

I think it looks really nice, the Red and Grey go really well against each other.

Nope, CSG looks nice, but for me it's white all the way to pick out all those red and black accents!
-
Was really set on 'Night Blue' - But now seeing this Carbon Grey I'm very tempted to change my mind!!
-
Mine is TR, so I have no affinity towards the white at all - but I can say in the flesh it looks amazing.
-
Tornado Red here too & ill never change, not even if it was a free paint. It looks like Tornado Red is actually going to be a rare colour for the GTI this time around!

14% TR.
3rd highest choice after PW at 42% and CSG at 16%. Oryx is 9% so you could roll that into the PW to give 51% choosing a white car...

Me neither, its the best colour IMO. Also, the fewer TR GTI's the better, means we'll stand out even more

DBP
It's all about not standing out.

It's all about not standing out.
Sorry, I'll rephrase. I didn't mean standing out in that respect, I meant standing out come selling time.
Not only is TR my favourite colour but I also like it because it doesn't stand out as much. In my line of business people don't like to see you in a flashy car eg. the White, so TR is perfect for me.

I think red isnt that popular because of the red trim. With any other colour you get that nice contrast but it becomes lost in the TR

exactly what mrs w said, she loves red cars but felt the badges and front stripe were lost

I'm over in California this week "on vacation" and I've seen loads of MK6 GTI's about - the vast majority of them in CSG. I have to say its a stunning shade in the bright California sunshine!
-
Struggling here, was set on Night Blue before I saw this thread!
CSG is SO tempting!
-
Another reason why I like the TR, as it all blends in
-
Is the CSG a GTi/GTD only colour? Can't see it when speccing a standard golf.

Yes, believe it is
-

Yes, exclusive to GTI/GTD. However, for some time it has not appeared on the configurator so I'd take any omission with a pinch of salt (if that is what you are using) and ask the dealer to confirm with Germany.
-

Yes, it was introduced in the UK as a GTI/D exclusive shade with the mk6 and thankfully has been carried on with the mk7.
-
you TR boys don't take the hump with me but it looks horrendous on the mk7. White is so much better due to the fact it shows all the lines and contours way better. Black isn't any better either. the red seems flat in comparison to even the carbon grey. is an individual choice though but it never crossed my mind to even consider red or black.

No humpiness here, each to their own!

I agree that the red imo is not great on the GTI however with the santiagos that Mark has ordered I think it will transform its look a mean looking beast

I like the white and CSG and even the blue, but honestly the TR looks way better than any standard Golf even if its not my fav colour. No colour looks bad really.
-
I don't understand the hatred towards Tornado Red. It's the original, classic GTI colour and if you look after it well then it looks incredible. The lines are still visible and the combination of red and black is great, especially with the Panaromic roof, really sets it off.
White is bland, boring and common in my opinion and shows up every single mark.
There's no way that Tornado Red is "Horrendous" that's a ludicrous statement.
But yes, as has been said. Each to their own.

So funny how people argue or even try to put across their point across when it comes to picking a color. Pick what YOU like and f*ck what everyone else thinks.....Done !!!
-

Yes I agree... "Horrendous" is maybe a little strong... "Hideous" would be a better description  (I'm only pulling your leg btw).
There's nothing wrong with Tornado Red. Although I personally wouldn't pick it myself, I don't actually think it looks as bad as some make it out to be. My wife loves the look of the Tornado Red in fact and was trying to get me to change... But Hey what do girls know??? If I left it up to her we would have ended up with a VW Beetle Convertible....
-
I can guarantee that in 6 months time when I see another one in black, red, carbon grey, whatever it may be, i'll be thinking that I should have went for that instead. Mind you, I'll be hoping that the person in the GTI coming towards me is thinking exactly the same thing
I think quite a few of us might be like that

That's very true. I think people will always regret their colour choice and wish they had something they don't have. Human nature :)

I never said there was anything wrong with the red and I stand by the horrendous statement which isn't ludicrous at all. I don't like it in red and prefer white which is why I've ordered it. so what if it's the original gti red blah blah blah. I just don't think it suits the shape of this gti very well whereas the white gti I've seen looks much better.
-
Ordered Pure White, second choice would have been Tornado Red.
Would not choose any other colour in the GTI. White or Red, Red or White
-
Actually having seen the latest gtd review which uses a red car I think a pano roof would break the colour up for me. Still prefer white though
-
Tornado looks awesome, like others have said it's a 'proper' GTI colour.
-
Imo the titanium silver highlights the lines of the 7 the best, i've ordered white as it's what i fancied and having seen one now i'm quite happy with the choice i've made, the TR can look so deep and lusterous when looked after but just doesn't do it for me on the 7, now a mk1 or 2? Yes please!!
-
There are a few silver mk5s round my way and I think they look awful. There is one that is often crossing an overpass in the opposite direction about the same time every morning. Each time I'm going  why oh why oh why get that colour?
But then again, I like the blue a lot and that makes a lot of people .
Oh yes, I should point out my current car is silver. Ha! It's just I don't like silver on the mk5, which is kinda why I never even considered it for the mk7.
-
I'm not talking about reflex silver which was available on earlier mk's, the Titanium Silver looks very wet, it made me think of the Terminator films when i saw it! :D
-
Is this new to the mk7 then?
-
Yup!, you can still get reflex but the titanium adds quite a bit of depth. 8)
-
Ah. In that case my bad and please disregard my previous statements on the subject.
Except that I still don't like reflex silver.
-
I'm not a fan of reflex either tbh.

I think it looks like a fat Golf has eaten a smaller Golf. However, this thread gives me a sense of Deja vu:

Had a drive out to my local dealer to check out the mk7. Their demo was a carbon grey manual, with 19s & leather! My god it looked great in the metal!
-

There is no Titanium Silver available on the mark 7 GTI. Do you mean Tungsten Silver?

Yes I would love to see that colour too. Shame as it seems like hardly anyone has ordered one. No pictures even on the german sites

This is tungsten silver I think (not GTI though)
