Title: Leather Option, What Does It Actually Look Like????

I've gone for leather as previously on both my Mk5 & Mk6 (Mrs doesn't like the tartan, i'm easy, so spent my equal amount of £1700 ish option money on PP & ACC  :grin:)

I have seen some pictures from German dealers on this site and also in VW Driver of leather and it has red stitching.

As these cars could be different spec from non UK vehicles or non production models for demo purposes etc, I am not sure if my UK Mk7 GTI will have red stitching or not (the Mk5 & Mk7 didn't).

I questioned my dealer and got a puzzled look back, non of their branches have taken delivery of a production model for a customer order yet with leather.

Anybody seen a pucka UK customer ordered car, delivered in the flesh with leather????????

It doesn't mention red stitching in any of the UK sales material and as you know it hasn't been available in previous mk's so I'd say it will just be black, one of the many reasons I wouldn't spec it myself. :angry:

Damn... really?

When I ordered it I was going off pics from Germany.  Why does everything have to be so different region to region?  Surely it is more effort for them to have a leather for the UK, why not use the same one as Germany?

Just called in the dealer again today and got the same puzzled look about the stitching, you would have thought that they would have enough contacts throughout the uk to answer the question. On the upside, my build week has moved from 38 to 35!!!!!!!!

The stitching should (logically) have red stitching to match other stitched components like steering wheel and gearstick gaiter. Are there no brochure interior photos of a GTI with leather option?

It only has tartan in the brochure pictures, i hear what you say and agree the stitching should be red but the mk6 leather was plain though. Somebody will soon have delivery of a uk ordered car to confirm with some nice pictures hopefully  :laugh:
