Has anybody had any problems with the ACC. Adaptive chassis control? Is it worth getting? In my eyes more computerised stuff more to go wrong?
-
The changes are subtle between the 3 modes but you will notice it.
I haven't used it that much but then I'm on Glendales (19 inch wheels) so it's pretty firm.
There are better extras such as the Sat Nav or maybe parking sensors but I didn't spec them so the more the merrier

I've got ACC and no issues with it so far. Also run on 19" Glendales but do notice the subtle differences, especially on our awful roads.
Think ACC is one of those things where if you've never had it then you won't miss but having had it I would spec it again. Agree there are probably more desirable extras and that will be easier to find on a used car and would add more to the resale value.

Got ACC on my scirocco. Came as standard. Wish I had specked it for the golf. Certainly a bonus on very poor surfaces. Can always upgrade satnavs and other electronics for reasonable cost if you DIY but not ACC. Good looking wheels also make a big difference IMO.

I specced this for my GTI Ed35. Out of all the options I could have chosen, this is the one I'm happiest with. It means that I can put it on comfort mode when I'm on a long motorway journey or have my wife & kids in the car and need to be the 'responsible' driver. However when I'm alone in the can I can put it in sports mode and have some fun
Basically, for me ACC means everyone's happy

Yeah think Iv got to go for ACC, I want a smooth, fast car, but not an old mans car like a merc lol.
Volkswagen do like to sting us, you get ACC and touch screen as standard In the scirocco and gt.
-
Can actually find any with ACC at the min, none with dynoaudio either lol
-
I've got Nav, dynaudio and ACC in my GTD. love it
-
Ah don't rub it in, lol, how much u pay for the gtd? Fast?
-
£13k
Yea it goes pretty well tbh. I came from a manual mk5 gti.
Love the GTD with DSG. Averaged 54mpg on my way home earlier which was nice
-
Yea I ent sure what to get out of a mk5 or mk6, u prefer the gtd to the mk5?
-
GTD all day long.

Thats why i did not buy it in 2009 and the cost of replacement dampers.
But you can bypass it as there are kits out there if you want to use standard or aftermarket shocks in the future or if anything goes wrong.
I did not know this at the time.
Sometimes i do wish i had ACC for comfort mode but then again the suspension is not too bad standard.
I have not read about many issues with it which has really suprised me.
If i am completely truthful after 3.5 years of GTI ownership finding out what does go wrong and what the weeknesses of the GTI engine design and the GTD engines design are i do actually wish i had gone for the GTD (just don't tell anyone  )
