Title: FUSES KEEP BLOWING HELP

Hi im new 2 this site  :smiley: last week i parked in town locked my car when i came back my car it would not unlock the red flashing light was not flashing i also dont have key entry on my handles and my boot runs off the central locking.Thinking it was the central locking i brought a whole new kit a bit fast ....checked the fuses and the brake light fuse had blown so replaced that it did it again......its worked for a day and tonight its done it again.No brake lights no central locking.Nothing has been changed or tampered with it has just started on its own any thoughts would be fab leaving the window a jar cant go on forever  :undecided: cheers niki

hiya you could have water getting into your wiring somewhere or a live wire earthing out somewhere it shouldn't. is the fuse the correct rating?

 refit the fuse ,
 then try repeatedly applying the brakes see if the fuse blows ,if yes its on that circuit
 you need to look for burnt or chaffed cables , also sniff for any burnt stuff (sounds funny but works)

if not ...wind down a window (so you can get in) try the same with the central locking , you need to see which one is blowing the fuse first

then slowly & methodically go through the circuit a bit at a time , damage to cable insulation is the primary suspect , good luck
