I recall Damon hill, I mean diamond tit getting involved in the debate.
Anyhow, I'm sure a focus ST would have no problems going by this poor effort.
Massive Laugh out loud

You would be a complete tit if you ever thought a 1.8 NA engine from the 80's would beat a new 2.0 turbo engine.
These type of videos annoy me.
They are only trying to make the new car look good! Surely using a standard mk4 20vt would be a fair test as the both go 150bhp a turbo but the diesel hass got extra 200cc
-
Look at the driver if the mk2... Nuff said lol
-
Ah the good old who can go faster in a straight line test.
100% real life.
-
Well it is actually real life isn't it.... Not a fooking cartoon is it
Tweed theirs alot of tits on here then :lipsrsealed:

He is a qualified racing driver apparently

Well done on grasping the concept of what I was saying and answering in such a well thought out manner. Clearly I thought this was a 3D render of what might happen....
If it wanted to be a true comparison test then it needs a track test not a gun it down a 1/4mile test as obviously a turbo will win all day long. Throw corners into it and I reckon it would be a much closer fought battle, the diesel would still have probably won but it's by no means comparitive. At all.

Doesn't matter if you win by an inch or a mile; winning's winning.

From The Fast & the Furious.

Yeap

They all look like they still live with their mum.

did he say 119 bhp for the Mk2?
-
How utterly pointless.
-
did he say 119 bhp for the Mk2?
Yes.
-
Did you see the M3 E30 V 320 D :lipsrsealed:
and the Aud 20v 2.2 quattro V some new TDI thing... the 20VT kills it
-
Seen a standard e46 m3 chase down a rs4 on a track day but couldnt get past due to it pulling away down straights but the rs4 held the m3 up in the bends.
Also seen a nova turbo spank a nissan gtr r34
-
How much would you love those classics though?
-
I'm pretty sure it was horney s stripped out 1.9 8v that had a sprint time similar to a focus st.
-
I'd like the mk2 in the link
-
Same. I've allways wanted one like that ever since I was a kid.

Not all that difficult, my bog standard Clio 172 was setting faster times at Curborough than an E36 M3 and an E46 M3, both of which have over 100 ponies in hand over the Clio (as well as being faster than a properly prepared caged, slicked and TB'd Clio) whilst being beaten by an MG TF160 with less power.... Its all about the circuit and the driver and sprint circuits typically dont do heavy cars any justice.

so a new golf with 150bhp is faster in a straight line than a old golf with 119bhp never would have seen that coming
