Anyone here used a TT wishbone (with TT balljoint) and fitted this to the standard mk4 golf gti hub carrier?
Is this possible? I have seen this webpage
http://www.myturbodiesel.com/1000q/a4/audi-tt-spindle.htm
which notes about the wishbone, hub carrier etc however doesn't mention about using the standard hub carrier with the TT wishbone and balljoint.
From what I can gather there is more clearance (with the TT hub) for the balljoint nut which is probably there as the threaded area seems to be longer. Could this not be compensated for by using some spacers?
If I did have to go for the TT hub carriers, would my existing standard 288mm discs bolt straight on?

I currently have standard mk4 hubs with TT arms. The only problem I had was the splash guards catching the ball joint thread but this was easily solved with a grinder.
The TT hubs lower the ball joint down so the arm is nearly horizontal giving the better handling characteristics

Wazzzer - thanks for the reply.
Good to hear that std hubs can be used albeit with slight modifications. At least I have an option if I fail to locate some TT hubs in the meantime.
Does anyone know if the std 288mm discs will bolt straight onto the TT hub?

Hubs and wishbones for sale on this site and at a really good price.

They have to if people with gti spec hubs fit 312's, r32 brake setups, cupra r brembos etc....

As above, the discs and carriers are the only difference

Thanks for all the repies.
Wazzer - you mention discs and carriers being the only difference. I assume when you say disc, you mean the size (312mm instead of 288mm), therefore my 288mm discs will be fine bolted on?

I may be willing to part with my poly Superpro TT front wishbone bushes if you were thinking of getting some...

Don't you like them?

Not fitted them mate, got some defcon style inserts being made up at work so going for the 30mm versions instead
-
Wazzzer - thanks for the offer mate, but I've already got a set of the original TT wishbones with 30mm front bushes.
Do Superpro make a 30mm bush for the rarer wishbones?

Not sure but Powerflex definitely do
