Today a nice courier came and collected my 10-22mm Canon lens. It was EF-S fitment and thus doesn't fit the 5D2. It had become a doorstop and the guy who bought the 500D didn't want it.
I was actually sad to see it go - I was really excited to get a lens that wide when I bought it and really enjoyed shooting with it for the last three years or so.
It's the first lens I've actually sold (kit lens doesn't count!). Can't remember the last time I actually felt sad about selling something.
One of the last images I shot with it:

Should have a rather exciting 100mm F2.8 Macro to replace it by the end of next week. Best not grieve for too long.
WOO HOO!

Is that the 100mm f2.8 L Macro you're getting or the plain 100/2.8 ?
The L is a very nice lens.
-
Just the plain F2.8.
Can't afford the double the price for the L-glass straight out the traps!
If I do lots of macro stuff maybe I'll step up to it, but as I understand it there are pros out there who use the non-L because it's so good.

I have to admit I loved my 10-22mm wide angle lens, it served me well in New York where I bought from B and H. The 16-35mm L I bought to replace it on a full frame compared just doesn't seem the same. It is way better, but value for money the 10-22mm has it.

100mm macro has been dispatched today. Being delivered on Thursday.

Nice one.
I'm undecided on what lense to get next. Was thinking Canon 10-22 but may get a 17-40 as want to go FF in the future.
-
I think the fact the L is only 17mm would have frustrated me on a crop: that's not wide.
Can't recommend the 10-22mm highly enough on crop.
Next lens for me after this is likely to be the 17-40 F4L
-
The 16-35mm is the exact FF replacement for the 10-22mm.

I understand that, but could get my ultra wide fix on my 35mm film body.
Ill probably get a 17-40 and then try wangle a 5D3.

Nice work. f2.8 on full frame is really nice.
