Title: Mk4 gti ecu reading problem
Post by: Dazjno1 on 06 June 2013, 16:16
Had a guy out today from the auto clinic to remap my ecu on a stage 1. The problem is that his laptop or machine couldn't communicate with my ecu or didn't recognise the ecu so he couldn't do it. He checked the fuses and there is power going to the diagnostics plug so he couldn't understand it. As far as I was aware the ecu was standard and he said it was stamped vw as well so I'm confused about what the issue could be. Anyone help? Would be much appreciated so I can continue my plans with the remap.

Thanks in advance.

you can't read agu engines through the obd port... and if he didn't know that then he probably doesn't have the right tools to flash an agu through the obd port either. My advice would be to find another tuner that knows something about 1.8T engines.
