Hi all, i am a devout golf gti man, have got a 12 plate gtd in carbon with leather dsg and nav, but an thinking of going for a black manual performance pack gti with 5k of extras.

Question is do i change or stick with my gtd?!
Also whats peoples thoughts of black gti with black leather?!

Well i've got a black gti with leather seats and love it, but it's not good to keep clean...

Hi and welcome

Like Murray, I have a deep black pearl gti with leather and love it too.  It is the hardest colour to keep clean (carbon shows much less dirt/dust), but, if you keep on top of it, black looks stunning.

If you're not into car cleaning/detailing then think twice, but if you are and can afford the extra, go for it

Hmm black May be out of the equation then, as i live in the sticks and very dusty!
Is the gti really worth the extra doh over my gtd, tahts what im confused on!

Why are you considering the change to a gti,  is it more power you're after?  Why not map the gtd?

Well i need more power, plus im not so keen on the dsg box, plus remap invalidates warranty i believe, plus may screw the engine over time?
Maybe im
Being stupid and should
Just keep my gtd.... I think if they had done the gti in carbon i would have paid deposit by now! Just cant get excited by the colours

Not to mention the hefty whack of depreciation .. I think only you know whether this is sensible as we're not your accountants.

You could remap the GTD, and keep the money you would have paid for a GTI, have a few holidays, enjoy yourself and still have some money if anything goes wrong and VW won't cover it. £5k extra is alot of money !!

Remaps nowadays are very good and to have a fail on your car within 3 years warranted probably won't be caused by the remap if you get it done by a reputable dealer. If a part fails it was probably going to fail anyway.

But at the end of the day it is up to you.

As said it's available in carbon steel grey.

Have a look in the mk7 section, think a couple of people in there have ordered it in CSG.  Might want to check this thread http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=254937.msg2338689#msg2338689
Some nice pics of a CSG on page 2
