Title: Wind/draft noise at speed.....
Post by: snifferdog on 05 June 2013, 16:33
.....when travelling at around 60mph+ the wind seems really loud, rushing in through the passenger side door/wing mirror area?!

The seals look in good condition and the door seems to close properly and fully as it does on the drivers side which makes no noise.

Obviously my first thought would be the door seal but wouldnt I be able to tell by sight if that was the problem?!

Ive tried sticking some 'draft excluder' tape around all areas of the door but the wind still seems to rush in as soon as I go above 60!

Thanks for the help!

Upon closer inspection, the seal around the window looks to have seen better days. You can pull the black rubber back and see the seal. Has anyone else experienced this?

Are you sure the wind noise is not coming from your windscreen? Sometimes if they are changed they are not bonded so well causing air to come in.

Yeah sorry, that's what I meant, the seal around the windscreen doesn't look too clever.

Can i get it rebonded or would a diy fix using some sort of silicone sealant do it?

Right, after a bit of investigation, it seems that the cover that goes over the pollen filter(?!) on the passenger side is broken and there is a hole in it.

Im thinking this could be the issue?

Oh, also, I silicone sealed around the edge of the windscreen and it didnt really make a difference.
