I've got it now.
I'm a Sales Manager at VW so I took that earlier. Only done 5 miles in it so far. I will have to go out for a drive later...

Very nice indeed. Very Jel...Is that Pure White or Oryx White?
-
Congratulations! Now you're gonna have a lot of questions to answer ;)

So is that one of the demonstrator models as I can't see the ADC eye?

Hate to say I don't know what the ADC eye is.
It's got a black square at the front of the grill rather than the camera on the SE and GT models.

Just pure white on this one.
I've orded a oryx white for one of the sales exec's so I'll post that up when it arrives.
That should probably be here on Monday, depends on how long it takes Grimsby to release the thing.

It's fine. I know I'm not up to scratch with all the products, I don't need to too. Sales exec's need to know that, I just need to know what costs what.

Posts like the first one in this thread make it very difficult to resist buying a new car, even though there's nothing wrong with my current one. White is such a flattering colour for new Mark 7.
I just know that if I go to my local dealer, even just for a poke around and to sit in it, I'll end up going for a test drive and then placing an order the very same day.
Must resist... must resist...

Classic Post AAddict..... made me lmao

Whether he knows what the ADC eye is or not. Who cares? He's laughing at us cos he gets to drive a GTI this summer whilst most of will be getting ours in Autumn :(

Sorry, meant the radar for the automatic distance control. :embarrassed:

Everytime I see a white GTI, it assures me that bit more that I went for the right colour choice.
TR is honestly doing the opposite.

I'm very sceptical of the usefulness of pictures for deciding on colours. I still haven't been able to see my chosen white on a GTI but even on other models like the Polos and my local dealer it looks good. The only one that has made me sit up so far is the night blue. I thought the pics posted of a couple of demos in that colour looked super, although I think I was in the minority on this view!
Anyway, like you I was not a fan of TR. Seems like the red highlights are wasted on it and doesn't feel special enough. But, when I saw it in person on my local dealer's demo GTI I started to think it actually looks damn good. It really suits the car.
I still think white is the best though, and if not really who cares? You don't spend ages gazing at the outside of your GTI so unless you pick a colour you end up hating it doesn't matter as much as most other things. Also most of us aren't going to be parking next to another GTI, so its unlikely to be compared directly anyway.
-
I dont really agree. I think colour is very important as when you leave the car or you aproach it it can make the difference on if it makes you smile and think I really like the way that looks its all personal taste and choice though everyone is different on what they really like.. No disrespect to anyone but I personally would not have the same glow and feeling if I had gone for a colour I did not really like when buying a brand new car I dont see the point in a new car if its not as you want it.

Totally agree Snoopy. In fact when I was considering ordering my mk6, the colour choice was no. 1 on my list and the first thing I decided upon, followed by what options I wanted. Would I have taken the same spec car but in a different colour if it had reduced the waiting time? If it had been my second colour choice, maybe, but other colours, probably not.
-
Snoopy: I agree colour is important and it's the only thing other people see of your car.
Bill: I made both videos of the Night Blue and Pure White at each of my test drives (posted them too). I can tell you both are beautiful in person. The blue looked more 'aggressive' but that was probably because of the fact it was a 3 door.
In the end I chose white as it looks great and is easier to keep clean compared to a dark colour. If I had a butler I would without question have chosen black :)
-
Okay, so this car now has about 90 miles on the clock.
I've not driven the mk6 GTI a massive amount, but these feels a class above it. The new Golf steering wheel is a fantastic!
We have some very good windy roads near our dealership which I took it out on last night and it is extremely fun to drive, handles great, and sounds fantastic. Performance pack is a must!
Took it to one of our other branches today for a stock review, with a 60 mile round trip on the motorway which was okay. Can't really test the car on the motorway. Impressed at how refined it was, and pulls very well in 5/6th if you put your foot down at 70.
What's going to annoy you all the most is.
I think I prefer my Passat CC...

that's interesting, do you have a car without pp to compare it to?

Is it because its more comfortable when your going down to collect your pension?
-
Right, that's me straight down the dealership tomorrow to cancel my order & order a Passat

Hahaha  I like your sense of humour!
Well for a VW Sales Manager that knows very little about the cars he sells, I would have expected nothing less
-
I wasn't saying colour wasn't important, I just mean that if you are undecided over say two colours just pick one. Its not like you are later going to hate it. And since the car is rare enough that you probably won't find it parked next to another one in your other colour choice its not like you'll have something to compare with and regret not going for yourself.
Basically, I was just trying to tell myself to stop trying to change my mind on the colour!
Which part of a Passat CC is better than the mk7 GTI?
-
If I had gone for my second or third colour choice on the mk6 there is both that park near mine when im at work. SILVER and RED
I also see lots of white ones. So spotting mkviken for example with his white one is not that easy.
Im sure the mk7 will become as popular if not more so as alot of mk5 owners did not move to the mk6 but are to the mk7
