Title: lumpy idle

When i sit at traffic lights the car has a lumpy idle. The revs go up and down feom 800to1000 and it sounfs lumpy..kinda like a misfire.. any ideas?

Clean the throttle body then see if its still there.. any power loss??

check the pipe under the inlet mani for splits

ok. just spent half hour reading up about cleaning a throttle body but i still dont know if i should go ahead,, im not very confident and if i bugger the car and cant pick up my son at the wkend the b!tch of a ex would go nuts!!!! lol..... anyway ive a 02 plate with a AUM engine, can i just clean it and put it back together? will it need anything else apart from being run in to get the idles back to normal IF i give it a go.  thought better putting it here instead of starting a new post on it.

its a piece of piss mate 4 bolts to take off an back on,then when your done leave your ignition on for a few mins before starting it  :smiley:

i just want to see if it helps my idle which goes up and down between 800 and 1000rpm, new coils going in tomorow 1st though! free!

is urs a AUM? did you have to use vagcom?

Agu pal, nah just put it back together, left ignition on for a while before startin the engine and all seems well

If you put the car in 2nd stage ignition with the drivers door open it aligns the TB on an AGU

a just drove my aum for a good drive after an it sorted its self out  :smiley:

looking for a vagcom cable just incase,lol  although id probly not now how to work the software anyway but worth a shot, the idle is begining to do my nut in!!
