Title: over heating or just a sensor?

Car has been fine took it out today noticed the temp had gone up to 110 but sat at a set of lights dropped back down to 90 then 5 mins later it went tp 130 stop lights come on both fans on pulled over popped bonnet now the engine was warm but I could still touch it quickly without burning myself car also lost all power need help lol

sounds like water pump has gone, simular symptoms, get one with a metal impellor..
apparently the new plastic impellor ones are improved, i`d still get a metal one though.

cam belt needs to come off. just make sure you have everything lined up and that it`s tensioned correctly.
buy yourself a haynes manual mate, it`ll come in handy when you need to take these jobs on yourself  :smiley:

got a quote from a garage in Bristol called streetwise motors they do revo remaps ect.

They quoted about £380  :huh:

Not a bad price to be honest, is that with a cambelt kit as well?

Replace the tensioner too. It's an extra £70 or so but if it goes it will write the engine off

Metal ones can do more damage if the impellers go on them...

I think that was included in the price mate tbh all parts come from TPS also

Not sure not looked tbh

The RAC bloke checked my coolant flow ect and im getting a little returned but not massives he said its common for the blades to rust off the spindal

heard they lock up an spit the belt  :shocked:
