Been having a few convos with rtech recently..
Anyway they dont recomend my uprated smic...what sort of power have people got runing these?
Im running
Silicone tip
Smic
Hybrid k03s
Forge 007p
Pipercross
3 inch turbo back
And vr6 clutch and g60 fly
Also..rtech say they need my car for a week.. is this normal? Something to do with it bein a hybrid. I dont wany meg power and i want the car to b subtle..hence no fmic
Is it worth using them or is there any other recommended remap specialists who wont need the car for a week?
Cheers
Az

To be fair mate, they would only need it for so long to ensure you get the best dynamic map possible for your car. By doing this it would ensure your car is mapped the best it can be..
-
A week  ask them why bud not heard that before.

exaclty, it can take alot of time to map in the n75 control for hybrids ect, they haveto be worked from scratch depending on your mods etc.
if the mods are simular to something they have done before he could probably load a file he already has and work from that. but due to being hybrid, it needs some time to dail in and get it right.
i know its innconvenience to you, it would bother me too as they are miles away and would cost a fortune in fuel and train fairs etc. but needs must
-
Yeah they said its cus its a hybrid turbo and thats y they need it for so long. Fair enough though, now uv explained it makes sense. Hire car it is lol! Going in next month. They recomended bgger maf and injectors but iv only just bort this maf and tip so would cost too much to buy new again lol. Plus the tip was a ballache to do ahaa
-
Its the same for BT they have it for a wk so they have enough time to complete a full custom map. Well worth it tho, best map you will get.
-
Bit of a waste of a hybrid if you ask me.... Keeping standard injectors and maf prob won't see much gain over a k03s :undecided:
-
Yeah i get ya but i didny know it was a hybrid to start with lol. Plus the car it came off had standard injectors and was alleged to be very fast. I mean maybe in a few months ill have a revamp and go all out but for now funds arent the greatest so just gonna keep it toned down a bit..
Plus theres a bit of controversary around the turbo..sum people sayin its a knock off and others sayin its a hybrid.. ita got ten blades
-
you should be glad they said a week rather than just popping any old map on an your car going boom shortly after  and im sure they have done enough 1.8ts to know what they are doing

Yeqh i know mate, best in the business aint they..just a weeks a long time with no car aha

i know i dropped mine at them saturday morning after a long drive

I'd seriously reconsider not doing maf, injectors and fmic, I bet you'll end up doing them eventually then you'll need it mapped again
-
Yeah i understand what ur saying, but im talkin this time next year ill be doing a revamp. Money could go into other things atm, bodywork, interior etc

i've seen a few of those 10 blade chinese "hybrids" that struggle to make more than 210bhp
-
If yours is a AGU you'll need bigger MAF and injectors as IIRC 230bhp is the limit possibably fuel pump as well

Yeah but the chinese ones r different. This onea part number matches up as a k03s. Iv got a pic if that helps?
And 230bhp is ample mate
-
got a few pics of the turbo?
my turbo is a chinese "knock off" but it`s working ok, its not the 10 blade one though. it appears to have a k04-023 turbine wheel and i beleive the turbine is k04 too judging by the size.
it would be interesting to see what your turbo does actually do. where did you get it by the way?
-
id defo atleasts fit a fmic as mine suffers heat soak on a generic stage 1 now...... id dread the heat issues on 230bhp on a stock side mount
-
Its not stock its one of them thicker alloy ones
-
Its not stock its one of them thicker alloy ones
regardless, it`s not getting any airflow being a sidemount.. that`s why we specify a front mount!
-
Its not stock its one of them thicker alloy ones
doesnt matter i hammered the info on this the side mount could be huge but the air flow not any different so pointless. if i hammer mine on some back roads you feel it not keeping its power starts to feel flat. fmic is only way to get a good solid consistant good power id say

I'd trust R-Tech's judgment. Fit what they recommended they are the best for a reason. You'd hate to go to the expense of a hire car for a week. Then for them to say sorry this is the best we can do but...
I've just booked my car in today at R-Tech for a stage two map. When it goes in I'll have been modding my car for two years and this will be my last mod before engine rebuild and hybrid next year.
