Hi all.Does anyone know what the differences are in the Elring headgasket sets as listed in the link below :-
http://outcat-cs.tecdoc.net/ows/en/1B5F3B840DF35575854D55684C5AE78C.ows_cs6.srv;jsessionid=1B5F3B840DF35575854D55684C5AE78C.ows_cs6?view=VIndexFramesetJsp
I can see they are for different engine numbers but i have the chance to get one at a fair price but it's for the earlier model so i'm wondering how much of it i can actually use if anything at all ?.
Thanks.

That link does'nt appear to work but here's what it says :-
ELRING
Gasket Set, cylinder head
[Search for this article] 224.460 Gasket Set, cylinder head
[Article comparison] [Checklist] [Shopping Cart] 0
from Eng. No.: AAA 146 001, Supplementary Article/Supplementary Info: with valve stem seals, only with: ZKS: 104.510
[Search for this article] 917.966 Gasket Set, cylinder head
[Article comparison] [Checklist] [Shopping Cart] 0
to Eng. No.: AAA 146 000, Supplementary Article/Supplementary Info: with valve stem seals, only with: ZKS: 104.510
They only list one headgasket so i'm thinking it's something else that differs ???.
Thanks.

Some of Erling stuff I've found sh!te. They don't last in Pubtos at all. Payern are a damned good make or Victor Reinz

The later gasket was a better / stronger design and I believe it will fit an early car or look for the mk4 2.8 one which is even better.
