Haven't seen it. Is it he Vegas one?
-
Yeah half of it anyway, it's called 'My Way'
-
Just seen it aired on ITV1 at half time between the Brazil v England friendly.
Nice ad but you don't see enough if the car. Vegas concept is a bit tenuous too.
-
Seen it twice now (I hardly ever watch tv so must be watching the more popular programs this weekend.
The other ones show a lot more driving stunt style which I think falls foul of uk regulations.
Catchy though.

Personally I find the ad very dull and boring. Way too much padding before you even see the car, then you don't see much of it!

Judging by the number of complaints received for the Toyota GT 86 advert earlier this year, they probably had to 'tone' it down a lot. Driving around a car park doing handbrake turns could be construed as “irresponsible” & "dangerous" by the advertising watchdog..... Shame cos I rather liked the full length original!

I'm pretty sure that car manufacturers are not permitted to show their cars appearing to be speeding. The R8 advert is a very clever way of getting round it

I wonder whether tyre manufacturers are held to those rules. There's a continental advert less than 2 years old where a car is on the top of a skyscraper and it's being hurtled towards the edge and hand-brake turned at the last second to demonstrate that Continentals have great grip. It's a pity some people can't tell the difference between a flashy advert and what you can lawfully do in reality on the open road and the ASA have to stop them watching so they don't get any ideas.

Too many jobsworths around who have nothing better to do than complain about TV ads!
I think the ad is great, typical GTI ad, no need to show a lot of the car as it keeps the audience wanting more. A la the mk 5 'singing in the rain' classic ad.
The R8 ad is v clever I agree!
