changed to an S2000 cone filter but due to the size couldn't fit the heat sheild that was previously on. a lot of brute force and a hacksaw managed to get it on and a slightly pikey cold air feed from the lower grill using a cone trumpet I think from the original air box.

seems to be working very well, filter still felt cold after a long drive and 247bhp on a 3rd gear run using liquid guage - questionable accuracy but worth the hour of DIY

I've got an s2000 filter and heat shield waiting to go onto mine, what did you use for cold air feed?
-
What have you got over the head shield?? Mine should be coming soon then will put my pipercross cone filter kit in
Was goin to just do my heat shield matt black but dont want to be boring  is yours powder coated?
-
3" neoprene hose of flea bay
used heat reflective tape on the shield, probably makes no difference but looks bling
-
U have a link to the heat reflective tape bud
-
Has anyone.got a link to these s2000 filters, there massive
-
found both on ebay cant remember which sellers
can get from any ECP although will be different colour, blueprint make the black & red coloured filter
-
There £14 of so from ECP. Have to get a 70mm-86mm reducer to fit on a 70mm MAF.
Took mine off as it was stupid induction loud.
I was embarrassed.
Children jumped into bushes with the fear of being sucked in.

Agreed, I was not keen when I tried the same set up.
-
surley the filter size wont make more noise...... i have a k+n and under bonnet inductions quite throaty but on road it all good. the inlet to the maf is what you are hearing so even if the filter huge how can it make it so loud?
-
the inlet is 3" and has a built in velocity stack. paper filters well but masks no sound
-
A cone filter is for sound.. why bother with it if you dont like the sound
-
Ohhhh i see it is rather large like
-
theres sound an theres embarrasing. its RIDICULOUS!
-
Video please :-D
-
no louder than any of the 6+ filters ive had in the past
it is quieter than the huge jetex I had, turbo noise started to annoy with that cone on
