Hello,
I was looking at getting some bigger brakes for my GTI but the car only has 17" Monza's on it.
What do people recommend? I was looking at R32 and S3 kits but not too sure if they'll fit behind the wheels.
What do people recommend/have on their mk6's?
Also, are the mk5/mk6 brakes interchangeable?
Thanks

What about golf R brakes ? They fit 17's and should be easy to source s/h

I know someone who will be selling a set of R8 brakes soon

Hmmmmm, tempting !!!!

R/S3 is cheapest option, the boxster nqsbbk that runs on 312s may fit all be it you'd need spacers anything else and you run into 4 figures

Well , my golf R brakes may well be upgraded by September if someone wants a mint set of brakes for their mk5/6 gti - make me an offer
-
well I need to get something that will fit, I don't mind having to use spacers really.
I have seen some S3/RS3 kits on ebay for about the £450 mark

They look good but would they fit under my wheels?

Bargain I've got some black rear GTI calipers that would go well with them

Hi bought a set of these brakes arrived as described with all the hoses, brackets etc but now wondering if the mounting clips and the connection for the brake wear indicator will be correct as the kit is for a mk5 gti not a mk6. Anyone know is there is any difference between the R32 brakes and the R brakes?

Had the ABT brake kit fitted today and fitted without any issues. Still one kit for sale on EBay bargain considering Awesome GTI want over eight hundred quid for the same kit without stainless brake lines.

Have you got a picture of them fitted? Do they go on the mk6 with no problems?
I only have the 17" wheels on mine so very wary if they will fit or not.............

I think you will need a minimum of 18"s for clearance.

No photo's at the minute but they are the same brakes fitted to the Golf R32 and R all the parts are made by VW the only difference is they have ABT on the front of them instead of the R decal. Doubt these brakes would fit under 17" wheels as there is not a lot of space left between the disc and the rim with 18" Monza Shadows.

Wow, how much?

17" Monzas will clear the R/ABT/S3 front brake setup, the A3 3.2 uses the exact brake setup and in sport spec comes with 17" wheels as standard, I've also ran 17s over the S3 setup on my old ed30 with no issues :)

I'm running this set up and it's superb, scene queens have mocked the disk size but seriously nice feel to these and nice and light, you need a 3mm spacer to run these on Watkins Glens
Car doesn't feel over braked
