Hey guys, just bought an 84' mk 2 Gti
for much cheapness ;D
Now the problem,getting some serious
knocking noises and feel through the steering wheel on acceleration, braking,
and going over rough surfaces.
I realise this could be a number of things
but as i'm new to golfs,i was wondering
if they had any common probs with the
suspension that it might be?,the ride
is rough to say the least :o

i had knocking noises on my 1.6 cl and vibrations through the steering wheel. i foudn it to be this funny round thing on the front wheel axles under the car. its a sound deadener or somthing and apprently not needed not took mine of yet but my dad put gaffer tape where the thign had come lose from and then put it on the gaffer tape to hold it there not had problem since. if it is this then i would remove it just check to see if it is loose

Might be worth getting the engine mounts and the strut top mounts checked out.
