thought id join just to get some info on the 1.8 turbo,s.. took one home yesterday and love it,,, so first question is what shall i do to it and the second is how much will it cost.. that should keep you all going, not wanting to spend hundreds realy... oh and the engine code is AUM???? read abt it but nun the wiser!

standard as far as i know.. difrent alloys is about it by the looks of it..... filters? iductionkits or that? was reading up about the dump valves did think about it but after reading this forum il pass, last thing i want is it not running properly

only thing ive found out thats een done in mods was rs4 reps and thats it. oil,plugs ect was done last year belts done 2000 miles ago :smiley: BUT service light coming on when i start up, think il just get a oil change ect done to be on safe side.

service light is easy to turn off (once youve done your service of course)
cant remember exactly how, but something like hold down the speedo trip button, turn ign off, keep holding and count to 10 and turn ign back on again..
google it..lol :wink:

vac pipes, cam belt, water pump, top mounts are prone to perish, coil packs, water drains if sunroof, vac com the sucker, a new job earning over 20k a year  :lipsrsealed:  :grin:, pick up pipe, i could go on if you wanted but i dont want to scare you, mk4 is more of a challenge than anything else lol but a worthwhile one at that

Myself, I would go to a local petrol station with a jerry can and get some petrol.
Then when your out for a drive, you need to find a quiet spot and pour the petrol into the car ( making sure to soak the seats) and throw a match inside.  :evil:

But on a serious note, they are fun to drive and I'm enjoying every minute of learning new things about the car .

well it seems a dam sight better than the fto i just got rid of...... mid life crises moment, now that felt ten times worse than the gti and i was just waiting for somthing to go wrong....

you've got break down cover right? possible things that could go wrong would be the the clutch pedal snapping, engine mount pins if they werent replaced with the cambelt and limp mode depending on pack recall and whether or not youve had it already
