Title: HELP - Rear shocks are in the GTI?

Hey up guys,

Long story short, car was in today for a bit of work at JCT 600 VW, they have told me that the rear shock are broke....mmmm, felt great all week driving it.....

"well Ross, they may feel good, but they could go at any time" - It will cost £130 per side plud £85 labour per side   :angry:

So i speak to JCT 600 Peugeot where i bought it from. They said they will replace them.....as they dont have to pay labour.

I want to make sure they are putting the correct rear shocks in, as i dont think Peugeot really knew what a GTI was  or what it means to have one....Anyone know the part number so i can tell them b!tches which ones i need....

Now many miles has your car done?
Are you sure they're not quiet and looking for work?
What did they say was actually wrong with them as it seems very odd that you've not had a problem and it doesn't seem to be a common failure.

went in for deal seal problem, and the offside fog light had condensation. Car only has 48k on it. Or well, its not me paying for it....so a free set of rear shocks in order. Just hope they are the correct ones. Cant seem to find part number anywhere...

This is maybe too late for you mate but I was in my loft before so I took a pic of my standard rear shock for my GTD
GTI and GTD share the same suspension so the numbers will be the same.

The ones listed in ETKA for my GTI are 1K0 513 029 GP  £71 each inc vat.

Will just be superseded as mine are the same number but end in MG

It depends on the PR number on your vehicle data card in the service manual or in the boot. Usually in the bottom row.

GTD 1JC - 1K0 513 029 MG
GTD 1JH - 1K0 513 029 GP
GTI  1JE - 1K0 513 029 GP
