i currently have 1.6 8v mk4 golf and in future am looking to fit a 1.8t does anyone know roughly how much time and money this would take and all things that would have to change
also doing this because i wouldnt be telling my insurer about this due to having points and wanting something quicker than stupid 1.6

so, you plan to knowingly invalidate your insurance, and have posted up on a public forum telling everyone :afro:
-
might as well just buy a 1.8t and put your numberplates on it.
it'd be a lot easyer and just as illegal

BRAVOOOOOOO!!!!!

So then Neil Gillingham from Dalston near Carlisle, how interested do you think the police would be to hear about someone committing fraud and driving without insurance?
I'll save you the embarrassment of posting your picture on here, but Bear in mind you are on a public forum. It's not unheard of for the police to investigate things written on forums

a proper man will hold his head and admit his faults, his biggest downfall was to post it here, if he went and did it (without posting here) and got away with it, then all the best to him.. but if he were to have an accident then of course, he`d be well and truley screwed!...
YOUR CAKE MATE!

Stupid idea that will only end in tears.

He's clearly an idiot and deserves it, the victims of his stupidity are who i feel sorry for.

and also i do have insurance havent done anything to my car was just wondering that was all and also what sort of bhp do the mk4 1.8t engines have ? will have to wait to my points come of till i think bout anything with more than 130-150 own fault really

its a daft idea to do a swap and not tell the insurer, because your insurance is void. How many points do you get for no insurance?
The job is pointless when you can buy what you want to build. Youll loose money on it doing a swap.
My advise to you is just put up with what you got untill the points are gone. And in that time save up so that you can buy a nice 1.8t when they're off.

What IS the good advice here, aside from 'no you cannot, you complete and utter, virtually illiterate, moronic f**king tool.'?
I don't get out much and DH isn't around much these days...
There was no point posting - Chuff was there and had made the point already.

Goes on so much though. Saw a cracking MK3 R32 the other day. Mentioned I never had seen it on forums and the reason was as it was just an undeclared 1.4
