Title: New and waiting for car (Now with Pics !)
Post by: Peter W on 28 May 2013, 17:16
Hello to all that read this,

The time had come for my great EP3 type R to be replaced, with a growing family a 5 door Golf was top of my list. This had been going on for a while until a mad Sunday 2 weeks back when a deal was struck for a 35 edition. The next day I headed to Antigua on holiday ! I really don't want the holiday to end as it feels like paradise ! But... Saturday the car will be ready for collection.

Really looking forward to getting the car as the last GTi I owned was a mk2.

Peter

Thanks, will do next week, I will get some pics for sure sat on collection, my son wants to make a vid also and will upload to his YouTube account.

Mine looks pretty much like yours in your pic... Being new to the mk6 golf is there anything I should get straight on with k&n filter ? Thinking already about getting the rear defuser painted as it looks unfinished in grey plastic. Also liking the led interior bulbs as posted in the mk6 section, does anyone have led rear plate bulbs? Led fog light bulbs?

I see you are in Canterbury , I will down that way in a couple of weeks to whitstable , may have to visit our favourite Mexican restaurant in Canterbury 'cafe des Amis ' I will have an eye out for GTi's especially 35s.

Sounds like you've got lots of plans already.

Best thing to do is search through the mk6 section as there is a ton of info in there.  If you can't find what
you're looking for, post a question.

Someone recently fitted LED number plate lights, check this thread http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=254001.msg2331906#msg2331906

Agree about rear diffuser, look much better gloss black. Quite a few have had rear diffuser painted.  I had a quote for this 2 weeks ago but it was a bit steep.

Cafe des Amis - great restaurant, one of my favourites too   There are a few mk6 gti's round here but I've yet to see an ed35 (mine's not a 35)

Antigua - gorgeous place.  I holidayed there in 2011

Thanks booth11,

I Will search through the mk6 section, how much we're you quoted for painting the diffuser ? Will give me a ball park figure.

I noticed yours wasn't a 35 but still looks a million $$$$ and hard as nails !

Just read your thread on painting defuser with prices - thanks or tip

Hi there and welcome...

thanks for welcome.

I have been trying to track down the standard spec of the 35, do you know what it was? was the RNS 510 optional, full leather, parking sensors, rear view camera.

thanks

that has got to be Neptune car park in Herne Bay.  I parked there last Tuesday and for a sec thought it was a pic of my car

Yep Booth11 you are right, we went down to Reculver Castle to try and get a decent backdrop but the car park was crammed with cyclists ! I will seek out a more suitable picture location now we are back home.
