Hi,
I've had a fault code come up in the past about the temp sender / thermostat and the car was sitting just above 90 or just below.
The code was cleared and everything seemed fine and that was about 5 weeks ago and it has always sat at 90.
Today I've driven from Cardiff to Somerset and it has been playing up again. It seems that when I'm hammering the car it drops down to roughly two notches below 90 at the worst and usually sits at one notch below.
But when I let it idle it comes back to smack, bang, centre.
Could the fault have come back after 5 weeks or is it sometimes normal to act like this.

With my limited knowledge ,I'd have said it was your thermostat sticking but someone may correct me

Thanks for the advice, I've always heard that you should go for Bosch . Do Bosch actually do thermostats or do they only cover electronics ?
-
just buy 1 from the dealer they dont cost much

I've looked for guides on how to replace them but can't find anything. I've heard its a pain in the arse to get to but got no idea where it is or how to do it.

Thanks for the link, but someone like me would be lost with that guide as there arnt enough pictures and instructions for a complete novice like me to feel confident picking up a spanner to attempt it. :embarrassed:

Just pay a garage 15 quid to do it. Its quick job for them and get some coolant too as you will loose most of it.
