I'm running Falken 452's which were about £100 a corner for 215/40/18's, great in the warm and dry, not so great in the cold and wet.

Falken's or Toyo's are good choices.

£117 per corner.

For £300 for a full set all your going to get is budget,

Achiles, accellera, Nankang, Nexan, Infinity,

none of them are great in the wet, they will be okish in the dry,

Really for a semi decent tyre you should expect to pay £100 a corner.

Toyo T1rs are a good budget/mid range tyre, Quite soft though and not great in the wet.

I can get a full set of achilles, accellera and Infinity's for £220 fully fitted and balanced in 225/40/18 for my LCR
but I will be going Vred and paying the extra.

Your tyres are the last thing between you and the road, Really is best to buy the best you can with tyres.
Its not an area to scrimp on.

Yes, wait an extra month, or buy on a CC. Don't be driving around illegally. But I'd wait/gain funds by other means and buy good tyres.

Classified a guy is selling 4 GY EF1's for £400!!  bite his arm off.

it depends how you drive just remember the roads are not a race track. Iv been driving over 15 years on cheap budget tires with no problem even in snow and ice. I like tyres that take years to wear out of thread ,saves me money lol, ill end up scrapping the car or selling it before i get a new set of tyres as they last so long. I had a nice set of falken tyre on my first car as i spent £1000's on it and they did not even last a year. Its all about how fast you drive and take corners fast, if so get the best or you will end up in a hedge.

Disagree Mate in rain and snow Budget tyres seriously under perform which has been tested time and time again! not just about how you drive also is how others drive ie if someone pulls out and brakes etc Either way what works for you.... but well aware a road is not a race track But again i have been in a car with cheap tyres driving normally and hit rain at the wrong time and was not pretty! I would put tyres before any other mod!

agree alot with the quality issue.......the drive quality and grip and noise from a decent tyre are night and day over cheapos. i had federals on for years and thought they were ok for a £60 tyre BUT when you go for good year etc the tyre difference is massive.

the new good year efficant grip plus tyres have great reviews and is what im putting on mine. thye get A rating for grip. B fuel and 67db road noise one of the best on market at mo

I've run Nankang NS2 Sports for years now and felt they've performed well. 225/40/18 I run and pay around £60 a corner delivered.

I'm thinking of splashing out a bit on the next replacement though with something a bit more posh

best way to see how good a tyre is going to be is look at the new tyre grades they now have u may be surprised on how bad some of the top make of tyres really are ive worked in the tyre trade for 15 years now and yes most budget tyres are not the best and u do get what u pay for BUT not all are the same and some of the top brands are indeed worse on tests then the cheap budgets
