Title: Urgent help needed :(
Post by: rfn_hodgson on 27 May 2013, 05:29
Just been going along the motorway and the car has started to shudder in the lower rev range?
Traction light has come on solid,
The power is still there, am I right in thinking its the gear box or clutch?
Gt tdi 150. 02 plate

Boost pipe? Have a look under the hood for anything not normal then get it scanned!

Sticky turbo... :undecided:

MAF. Try unplugging it and go for a drive. If it drives fine then your MAF is shot

ok bit of an update it seemed to shudder under load and when i mean shudder i mean the whole car shudders :/ .... putting a bit of toe into the accelerator pedal.
i got back to camp and turned the engine off had a look in the engine bay and no signs of smoke or steam.

turned the engine back on and took it round the car park and what do you know FINE!!

rhyso and scarr88 could could this be anything to do with your ideas??

Sounds like you hit limp mode  :undecided:

The fact it resets after you cycle the ignition suggests you have a faulty sensor. Best get it scanned as it will have thrown a code

Hello again just a slight update....

I drove it again and fine up until 20 mile into the journey and it happened again so I unplugged the MAF and no power but the shuddering stopped for a while then came back.

I then pulled over and plugged it back in and it's been ok for the rest of the journey 30 mile ish

I can't plug it in at the moment but I'm working on getting it sorted
Any more ideas or still the same ??
