Power is your problem. You dont say if your main feed is direct off the battery. If not try that first.
If that doesnt solve it then you need to look at these cap things.
Not too up on these things coz I'm not into that much power! But sure you could check it out on 'net
Power Capacitor things - they store power to cope with the peaks, which is why yours keeps tripping out!
Alternatively turn that big volume knob down and save your ears!
-
cheers len i think a power cap will be needed but i think my main problem was that i had blown the sub to bits  but luckily the shop was good enuf to change it for a new 1
-
For some reason blowing subs up is so much fun.
I was looking at Caps and came across these beauties!

U don't have to add a power cap, it cud be u have a weak battery! a power cap is a good way to go, but check ur battery is up to the job first a power cap cud coz u more problems.
Also check ur using the correct guage wire, is ur using 8 guage forget it. Kenwood amps like 4 guage, or if u don't have budget 0 guage wire but it cost around £10 per metre and u need 5 metres!

Ive decided to give one of these a go.

They seem like a no frills quality alternative. The same company also sell 0 guage wire allot cheaper than £5 per meter!

power caps are cráp
batcaps are good though
first upgrade should be the big 3 especialy in older cars, cheap and actualy a very effective upgrade
-
whats the big 3?
-
TB3 or the big 3 is a must when installing,
The Big 3 Are:
1. negative battery wire to ground - just replace the negative batt. terminal and wire and ground it to the factory location
2. engine block to ground - replace the ground wire from the engine block to the chasie with a bigger wire (maybe 4 guage)
3. alternator to batt -hope thats helps
-
I see. I would normally do 2 out of that 3. Never thought of the ground wire for the engine, good idea.
