Title: Mk4 1.8t seems slow.
Post by: swaterman1408 on 26 May 2013, 16:01
Hi all, just bought a 1.8t AGU golf a few weeks
Ago and it seems very slow. Was I expecting too much
or are they just slow?

if its a standard car dont expect to much but check all the pipe work under the bonnet for splits as this could be causing a boost leak

Standard 1.8t ain't much defo need it mapping, remember getting my 1st 1.8t was suprised hot slow it was. Got r-tech map it a lot better. with my 2nd 1.8t got Apr remap and wmi fitted with sports cat and milltek with many other things.

Just to echo what has been said above, in standard form the 1.8T is a let down. Check for fault codes and do a visual inspection of all boost pipes to be sure though.
